MESSAGE TO MY READERS When I am seeking information about an unfamiliar topic and thumb through a book, I do not want to see a lot of prose that plays Ring Around the Rosie about irrelevant stuff. I am looking for solutions to serious problems and want to see the nitty-gritty of thematter laid bare, and presented in outline form, in a clear, precise, detailed fashion of what and what not to do. If you feel the same, this is the book for you. One of the biggest problems in the inn business is that a vast segment of your guests will not return, not because they do not like your inn, but because they want to explore newplaces. The book addresses this problem head-on and spells out the solution on a multitude of fronts, in easy-to-understand detail, using many lists and outlines, so that these non returning guests are replaced without you spending huge amounts for advertising. Another unique problem of the inn business is that your inventory, unlike a typical retailer's, will disappear if rooms are not rented.This is examined in depth, and solutions are presented to fill the rooms so the problem is kept to a minimum. What is really exciting is that this is not just another run-of-the-mill book about inn keeping. The author was not satisfied with the status quo of the usual business operation and set out to seek perfection. This was not achieved overnight, and every new idea went through many trials and errors before the perfect system was developed.
